Human Resources Specialist - Stewart's Shops : Job Details

We are excited to expand our HR team by hiring a Human Resources Specialist. This role is based at the Stewart's Shops Corporate Office in Ballston Spa, NY, and is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are in the early stages of their HR career and have a passion for working with people, data, systems, and technology.

• Assist in processing weekly payroll for 5,500 partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support the pre-employment hiring process, including managing background checks, drug testing, and onboarding documentation.
• Respond to HR, payroll, and benefits inquiries from employees and managers with professionalism.
• Run and maintain HR reports, providing insights into key metrics such as hires, pay, and turnover trends.
• Act as a liaison between HR, IT, and external vendors for HRIS-related issues and projects.
• Assist with HRIS upgrades, testing, and provide training support for users.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data within the HRIS system.

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
• A genuine interest in Human Resources, with a focus on data, systems, and process improvement.
• Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Experience with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets).
• Eager to learn about payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and reporting tools (training will be provided).
• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong communication skills to assist partners with payroll and HR queries.

• Starting Pay: $25-$30/hour.
