The Bryan County School system is currently accepting applications for Human Resources Specialist. The successful candidate must meet all requirements as listed below: Position Overview The Human Resources Specialist assists the Director of Human Resources, with specific responsibility for all aspects of employee benefits and benefit information, workers' compensation, retirement, processing employee leave requests, implementing employee leave benefits, and assisting in ensuring that personnel functions conform to all applicable regulatory requirements. Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in related field preferred.
- Experience in Human Resources or public education system preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Essential Job Duties
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Compiles and prepares various reports as required.
- Performs a wide range of routine and complex administrative support tasks to facilitate the onboarding of new hires.
- Administers personnel programs and policies pertaining to employee leave.
- Communicates with other departments and administrators for the purpose of providing information and assistance concerning employee leave requests, employee benefits, employment, personnel records, and related legal requirements.
- Assists with new employee orientation to ensure employees are knowledgeable of current practices and administrative processes.
- Develops a wide variety of written materials (forms, procedures, brochures, pamphlets, FMLA requests, leave requests, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
- Maintains documents, files, and records (leave requests and tracking, eFMLA, etc.) to ensure accuracy of information in compliance with established guidelines.
- Reviews ADA requests, makes recommendations to the Director of Human Resources, and tracks accommodations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, fell, and/or reach. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds are required.
