Role: Human Resource Manager
Location: New York, NY
Duration: Permanent
Must-Haves/Ideal Background:
- Minimum of 1 year as an HR Manager with the ability to work independently; previous experience as a coordinator or recruiter is a plus.
- A true HR generalist with broad expertise across all HR functions (not limited to one area).
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience in a law firm setting.
- Familiarity with Paycom software.
Responsibilities:
- Manage new hires, approve timecards, and handle PTO in Paycom.
- Knowledge of NYC and NY State labor laws (California experience is a plus).
- Support a smaller firm with 100 full-time and approximately 20 part-time employees, including both exempt and non-exempt staff.
- Assist the Managing Partner with compliance tasks.
- Understand billable hours; process K-1 forms and draws for partners, different from payroll.
- Assist with W-2s; 1099s are automated. 1095/W-2 filings for the current year are completed.
- Prepare for open enrollment in October.
- Support payroll processing as a backup, though it is handled by accounting.
