Description • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for company personnel. Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department goals and objectives including systems. Manages compensation program; job descriptions, performance management. Prepares and maintain handbooks on policies and procedures; roll out updates. • Handles recruitment activities from assisting in analysis of the need for staff; preparations of the personnel requisition form; seek sourcing methods based on most successful means in the area; ability to be creative. Screening, interviewing, providing feedback to hiring manager; provide testing recommendations based on position. Background checks when necessary, and extending of job offers. • On-boarding of new employees, provide orientation, documentation, and present the company to the new hire. Follow up with manager as needed on the progress of the new hire. Development and needs assessment of training may be required. Sets up employee with appropriate access for systems. • Involved and guides management with progressive discipline to deliver an environment of continuous quality improvement. Assessment of terminations and ensures appropriate actions have been taken prior to the termination and obtains supporting documentation. • Involved in all levels of employee relations from questions about policies, grievances to formal complaints of harassment and/or discrimination. Investigations as needed. Problem resolution between employee and manager and/or company within State and Federal laws. • Manages leaves of absence from State/Federal leaves to company specified leaves, such as FMLA/CFRA, PDL, Discretionary Leave, Military Leave, ADAA, and vacation and sick leaves etc. • Responsible for work related claims as submitted by employees and responsible for the resolution of returning to work as quickly as possible. Management of physician, adjuster, carrier and employee areas related to the injury. Understanding of State and Federal laws regarding loss time, return to work, interactive process. Ensures safe work environment; follows OSHA requirements as it relates to workforce injuries and general safety aspect. • Administer benefits to employees; assist with questions or guidance with plans. Participates in annual open enrollment initiatives. • Training and management of direct reports. • Provides management training on various HR initiatives as well as topics relating to management. • Other duties as assigned by management. Requirements Three to five years of experience in a Supervisory role. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Flexibility and adaptability to change; must be able to multi-task. Knowledgeable in the Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Self-motivated; able to work independently; and handle confidential matters. Requires a High School Diploma. Bachelor's Degree Preferred w/an emphasis in HR and/or equivalent of three (5) years HR experience. PHR/SPHR a plus.
