Human Resources (HR) Assistant - Michigan Staffing : Job Details

We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will support various HR functions and work closely with employees to enhance their overall experience. This is a long-term contract position offering a hybrid work schedule, with opportunities to work both onsite and remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing HR operations, including employee onboarding and new employee orientations.
• Provide support with HRIS systems to maintain accurate employee records and data.
• Conduct background checks and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with team members to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Support employee benefit administration and handle inquiries related to benefit plans.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
• Act as a resource for employees, addressing concerns and providing guidance.
• Develop strategies to enhance employee experience and streamline HR processes.
• Coordinate with payroll and talent acquisition teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR-related activities.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in Human Resources or related field.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong customer service mindset with a focus on supporting employees.
• Ability to think strategically and propose improvements to HR processes.
• Familiarity with onboarding processes and conducting orientations.
• Experience in administering employee benefit plans and managing inquiries.
• Knowledge of conducting background checks and maintaining compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive employee relations.
