Position Overview

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations with a particular emphasis on benefits administration, compliance, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). This multifaceted role supports the organization's ongoing efforts to optimize processes while fostering a positive employee experience. The selected candidate will also have ample opportunities to expand their leadership skills and grow into a managerial role within the HR team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration
    • Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and wellness initiatives.
    • Partner with benefits providers and vendors to ensure smooth delivery and quick resolution of employee inquiries or issues.
    • Evaluate, recommend, and implement enhancements to current benefits programs to bolster competitiveness and employee satisfaction.

  • HR Compliance
    • Stay up to date with federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure organizational compliance.
    • Develop and update HR policies and procedures in alignment with legal guidelines and industry best practices.
    • Conduct audits of HR processes and documentation to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.

  • HRIS Management
    • Manage and maintain the organization's HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
    • Train employees and managers on HRIS functionality to optimize usage across the company.
    • Streamline HRIS reporting to deliver actionable insights to senior leadership and support budget planning and workforce strategy.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 2–4 years of experience in a generalist HR role, with proven expertise in benefits administration, compliance, and HRIS.
    • Proficiency in HR technology platforms such as ADP, Workday, or comparable systems.

    Preferred Skills & Certifications

    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
    • Experience with HR analytics and reporting to guide HR strategy.
    • Familiarity with payroll systems.
