POSITION SUMMARY:

The People & Culture Generalist reports to the People & Culture Manager and assists in the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture department. The Generalist supports various functions including departmental and organizational improvements, HRIS and filing, employee relations, training and development, onboarding, benefits, leave of absence, and compliance.

This role promotes HR practices that foster a team-oriented, high-performance culture emphasizing empowerment, equality, productivity, and workforce development.

We specialize in custom mobility services, valet/parking management, and off-site parking procurement, delivering unmatched quality service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support and respond promptly to TransWest team members' questions and concerns.
  • Maintain employee records, process changes accurately and timely.
  • Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, WA Paid Family Leave, and workers' compensation, ensuring smooth coordination.
  • Input new hires into HRIS, ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Manage unemployment claims and respond promptly.
  • Process garnishments and assist in developing HR policies.
  • Participate in new hire orientation and engage with employees at various locations.
  • Prepare reports and collaborate with leadership on HR policies and compliance.
  • Represent the company at job fairs and stay updated on employment laws.
  • Assist with benefits administration and ensure legal compliance across various regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by People & Culture Management.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business, or Organization Development.
  • At least 3 years of HR experience.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred).
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and record keeping.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and confidentiality skills.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively at all organization levels.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Reliable vehicle for site visits.
  • Experience in recruiting and interviews (1+ year).
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, or employee relations.
  • PHR certification.

Physical requirements include talking, hearing, sitting, and using hands for typing. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, or crouching may be required. Close vision is necessary.
