Description

The health services that became the Anthony L Jordan Health Corporation (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first five Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents in three quadrants of Rochester, NY and in Canandaigua, NY.

Jordan Health is now seeking a Human Resources Director who, under the guidance of the President and CEO, is primarily responsible for the development and execution of the human resource approach that supports the current strategic plan. The HR Director is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources department and all its functions, including recruitment, orientation, credentialing, training, benefits management, succession planning, compensation, employee recognition, compliance with state and federal laws, staff terminations, conflict resolution and incident documentation, and other related duties. The HR Director will assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for accomplishing human resources goals and objectives. The HR Director will provide leadership and will communicate all HR needs and updates to the executive and senior management teams. The role acts as an internal consultant to the management team, supervisors and employees on issues that impact performance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a human resource approach that supports the organizational business plan and strategy.
  • Ensure Jordan Health can source skills and capability where and when needed.
  • Promote a consistent and positive employee experience across all staffing models.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulating agencies.
  • Oversee recruitment, orientation, credentialing, training, benefits management, succession planning, compensation, employee recognition, and staff terminations; manage conflict resolution and incident documentation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures; provide leadership and communicate HR needs to executive and senior management teams.
  • Act as an internal consultant to management, supervisors, and staff on performance-related issues.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field and SPHR, PHR, or CEBS required; Master's degree preferred. At least 5 years or progressive experience as a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent.
  • Experience: Extensive employee relations and union labor relations; leading and developing a staff of HR and Talent Management professionals; managing the HR/Talent Management function for an employee population greater than 250+; not-for-profit experience preferred; healthcare or experience in another regulated industry required; experience with multiple direct reports; managing multiple locations desired.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Human Resources Professional Certification (SPHR, PHR, or CEBS) preferred; demonstrated progressive learning of HR trends and development required.
  • Special Skills, Knowledge Required: Leadership, partnership building, performance management, visioning and alignment, personal attributes, business partner mindset, and technology usage (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Outlook; Excel and PowerPoint); ability to use platforms that support HR functions and data retrieval.
