Director of Human Resources
Location: Berkeley Area - Hybrid
Compensation: $135,000 - $175,000
We are conducting a search for a Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of HR strategy and operations for a mission-driven organization. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this role will shape a people-first culture, drive talent initiatives, and ensure compliance across all HR functions.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and mentor the HR and recruitment team.
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, performance management, training, compensation, and benefits.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for employee relations, investigations, and workplace issues.
- Develop HR policies and programs that enhance engagement, performance, and retention.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
- Manage compliance with all employment laws and HR best practices.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; senior HR certification a plus.
- 10+ years progressive HR experience, 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven ability to build culture, lead change, and drive high performance.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS, ATS, and performance management systems.
- Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Non-profit experience required.
