Trees Atlanta is a nationally recognized non-profit community group that protects and improves Atlantas urban forest by planting, conserving, and educating. Founded in 1985, Trees Atlanta works tirelessly to address Atlantas tree loss, protect its forests, and create new green space.

Trees Atlanta is looking for an individual who is excited and committed to our mission to join our hard-working team as a full-time Human Resources Coordinator. This individual will play a key role in recruiting, engaging, and retaining passionate employees and contractors at Trees Atlanta for roles in planting, restoration, education, administration, and our workforce development programs, Youth Tree Team (YTT) and Urban Forestry Career Pathways (UFOR).

You will have the opportunity to protect and improve our urban forest in many meaningful ways:

Recruitment

  • Recruit passionate employees and contractors, including reviewing candidates, communicating with candidates and hiring managers, scheduling background checks, attending job fairs, and confirming employment eligibility through E-Verify).
  • Schedule and facilitate new hire orientation, which includes general onboarding, welcome swag, and building tours.
  • Partner with the Office Manager to assign employee assets such as fobs and parking decals
  • Employee Records Management
  • Assist with the input and management of employee files, both physical and digital, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality within the HR Information System (UKG Ready)
  • Assist with internal and external surveying and reporting as needed

Benefits Administration

  • Assist with the enrollment, changes, and communication related to employee benefits plans
  • Assist with the reconciliation of new enrollments with payroll
  • Employee Engagement
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, employee events, and employee recognition programs

Payroll Support

  • Reconcile timesheets for payroll processing

Other Administrative Support

  • Assist with offboarding and separation paperwork
  • Support Youth Tree Team, Cristo Rey Atlanta Internship program, and Urban Forestry Pathways Program HR-related functions
  • Other related projects as assigned

What you need:

  • Commitment to Trees Atlantas mission
  • Two years of relevant experience concerning Human Resources or office management, and/or other related field
  • High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in working with sensitive information
  • Ability to be a collaborative team player who can also work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with an HCM/HRIS/HRM and ATS; preferably UKG or Paycor, ClearCompany, Green House, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail
