Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Human Resources Assistant to support the daily functions of our HR department at a growing non-medical home care agency in Connecticut. The ideal candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish, possess strong communication skills, and be passionate about supporting caregivers and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the recruitment, screening, and onboarding of caregivers and administrative staff.

Conduct bilingual interviews and help guide Spanish-speaking applicants through the hiring process.

Maintain and update employee files to ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies.

Support the completion and tracking of required documents, including I-9s, background checks, and certifications.

Help manage caregiver credentialing, license renewals, and annual training requirements.

Assist with HR data entry, scheduling orientation sessions, and maintaining accurate HR records in the system.

Provide administrative support for employee relations, benefits inquiries, and HR correspondence.

Translate and communicate HR-related policies, procedures, and updates to Spanish-speaking staff.

Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information at all times.

Assist with general office support and special HR projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written) – Required

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or HR coursework preferred

1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, healthcare, or administrative support

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities

Comfortable working with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and communication in a diverse workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in home care, healthcare, or staffing agency environments

Familiarity with state of Connecticut labor laws and home care industry regulations

Knowledge of caregiver credentialing and background check processes
