Description East End Disability Associates Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides services and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). EEDA is hiring a full-time Human Resources Assisant to work within EEDA's Human Resouces Deparment. Shifts: Full-time, Monday-Friday. Some flexibility required based on program needs Hourly Rate: $23 Benefits:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support recruitment efforts for Traditional and Self-Direction population, including job postings and participation in job fairs.
  • Responsible for screening and referring applicants for non-exempt positions throughout the Agency, in a timely manner and consistent with Agency recruitment policies and procedures.
  • Perform background verifications including prior employment references, education, and criminal background screening consistent with position requirements and OPWDD regulations.
  • Follow up with the related administrative aspects of employment, including extending conditional offers of employment, sending offer letters and advising prospective employees regarding OPWDD requirements. (PPD, fingerprinting, etc). Notify the appropriate departments of new employee's starting date, etc.
  • Provide administrative support including data management of employee records in HRIS systems.
  • Respond to requests for employment verifications and general employee inquiries.
  • Ongoing tracking and administration of Human Resource processes including, but not limited to, LENS program, new hire reporting, OPWDD and agency requirements.
  • Other HR related duties will be assigned, and departmental projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in HR Management or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a professional office setting required. Human Resources preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office required. Prior experience in UKG/Kronos preferred,
  • Teamwork and detail oriented.
  • Prior experience working in OPWDD regulated environment preferred.
