Job Title: Human Resources Assistant Location: Lincoln, NE Department: Human Resources Reports to: Human Resources Director Position Type: Part-time (up to 30 hours a week) Description The Human Resources (HR) Assistant supports the daily functions of the HR department including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee records management, benefits coordination, and HR compliance. This position assists with fostering a positive work culture while ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and labor laws. Human Resources Assistant Responsibilities: •Assist with posting job openings, reviewing applications, and scheduling interviews. •Support new employee onboarding including background checks, orientation, and documentation. •Coordinates new hire orientation and follow-up with new hires. •Monitors Empeon for new hire onboarding completion prior to orientation. •Manage and respond to all employment verifications in a timely manner. •Manage and facilitate entry of all data required to be entered into Empeom, including but not limited to, employee coaching, reprimands, performance evaluation, etc. •Completes Timeclock enrollments for new hires. •Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (electronic and physical files). •Assist with payroll processing and benefits enrollment coordination. •Track employee attendance, evaluations, and licensure/certification renewals. •Help organize and maintain employee files in compliance with state and federal regulations. •Respond to employee questions about HR policies, procedures, and benefits. •Assist with employee relations initiatives, trainings, and recognition programs. •Participate in HR audits, surveys, and reporting. •Participate as the HR representative in meetings and on committees as assigned. •Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Qualifications •High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in HR or related field preferred. •1-2 years of experience in an HR, administrative, or clerical role preferred. •Knowledge of employment laws, HR procedures, and documentation standards. •Strong organizational and time management skills. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software systems. •Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
