TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCES AND SAFETY MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resource and Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resource functions and ensuring workplace safety. This role develops and implements HR policies, manages recruitment and employee relations, and ensures compliance with safety regulations.
A qualified candidate will be able to effectively develop, implement, and manage safety programs, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and provide all necessary safety training. This position is responsible for supporting plant engineering for the sake of implementing or adjusting engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards. The candidate must understand and be comfortable with enforcing Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations. The candidate must have prior experience managing a safety program in a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, interns and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations, monitors succession planning initiatives, as well as writes and places recruitment advertisementsAdministers FMLA policy adherence, ADA requests, initiates notices, and tracks absences for the purpose of enforcing the company attendance policyAdministers Workers' Compensation claims, including reporting, investigation, and follow-throughAdministers Short and Long-term Disability reporting and administrationAdministers unemployment claims, including investigation response, and attends applicable hearingsEnsures compliance with safety regulations and standardsHUMAN RESOURCES:
Responsible for the fair and just enforcement of all company policies.Manages all new employee recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.Responsible for recruitment and leading the interview processManages job descriptions and the posting of open positionsVerifies I-9 documentation; updates and maintains accurate employee recordsSubmits online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checksManages the new employee onboarding processAssists with the enforcement and processing of the disciplinary action processAssists with the completion of the annual performance review processOversees employee performance management and employee development programsAdministers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes the required documents through payroll to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductionsAssists or prepares correspondence and files applicable documents into the appropriate employee filesInteract with employees at their workstations or in the plant daily.SAFETY:
