Position Overview
Position requires a seasoned HR Advisor who will initiate and communicate general policy changes. This position will oversee, participate in, and coordinate general HR activities; including areas of benefits, payroll, HRIS management, recruitment, personnel actions, and regulatory compliance (including EEO/AAP, and HR policies and procedures).
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Support the development and modification of the Hamilton HR programs and regional HR programs as applicable.
- Advise managers and employees on HR compliance procedures
- Participate in decision-making matters involving policy expectations and interpretation
- Work in a collaborative local and regional team-based environment
- Maintain HRIS System, program changes, and database administration
- Assist employees with benefits and compensation programs and coordinate with regional HR resources with escalations
- Operate in a generalist role and assist with recommendations regarding Human Resources compliance procedures
- Assist with organizational development, training, and learning activities
- Assist with scheduling and executing classroom and virtual learning activities
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions
- Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources is required or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Information Systems is preferred, or minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
- SAP experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication capability
- Interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution ability
- Highly organized, with attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and multitask various projects and assignments
- Capability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Strong presentation skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Capability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
