Human Resource Leave Administrator
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time Human Resources experience. Demonstrated experience administering leave programs such as FMLA, PFL, PPL, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Worker's Compensation, and other related leave policies, including eligibility determination, documentation management, and compliance monitoring. Strong knowledge of and experience working with applicable federal and state legislation (ADA, FMLA, USERRA). Experience supporting or administering time and attendance-related matters, such as tracking attendance records or interpreting timekeeping policies.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Previous experience in Employee Relations (ER). Prior experience working with collective bargaining agreements. Experience within public sector employment, higher education, or similar setting. Experience working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and/or payroll system. Experience using Peoplesoft, Oracle, OnBase scanning.Brief Description of Duties:The Leave Administrator for Stony Brook University's West Campus is part of the Time & Attendance Team and handles all employee leaves of absence. The incumbent will be a main point of contact for Time & Attendance and Leave related inquiries and will be expected to audit, reconcile, and determine payroll submissions needed from timesheets. As such, strong organization and analytical skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication will be necessary for success.
Special Notes:This is a Management Confidential position. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
