Job Summary: The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and helps ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of HR functions. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and general HR support to employees and managers. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, resume review, interview scheduling, and background checks.
- Support new hire onboarding by preparing paperwork, conducting orientation, and maintaining employee files.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (paper and digital).
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee questions.
- Help track attendance, leave requests, and employee absences (FMLA, PTO, etc.).
- Support HR staff in preparing reports, letters, and other documents.
- Answer routine questions regarding HR policies and procedures or direct employees to the appropriate HR staff member.
- Assist with payroll processing by gathering and verifying employee information as needed.
- Help coordinate employee engagement activities, trainings, and events.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all employment laws and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in an administrative or HR support role preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Work Environment: This role typically works in an office setting, Monday-Friday. Some flexibility may be required based on business needs.
