JOB SUMMARY: This full-time Human Resource Assistant position reports directly to the ACSET Human Resource Director. Responsibilities require a high level of professionalism and confidentiality and include departmental support in the day-to-day operations of the human resource functions and duties including recruitment, internal policy analysis and departmental development, benefit compensation, and orientation of new hires. Assignments are performed according to established procedures with latitude for initiative and independent judgment and are received from an administrative superior who reviews work via conferences, reports and observation of results achieved. HR GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment, selection, and eligibility determination of applicants Maintenance of Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Preparation of employee new hire packets Assist with planning, designing, and organizing orientation for new hires Assist with facilitation of open enrollment benefit process annually Maintenance of employee files and the HR Information System (HRIS) Accurate record keeping including data base management and Excel spreadsheets Administer background checks including ICHAT and driving records Evaluation and update of internal HR policies and procedures Preparation of various reports as needed for internal purposes and outside agencies Actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes Perform other duties as assigned HR TRAINING DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with researching, recommending, designing, and implementing training and development plans to ensure organization is skilled to meet current and future needs Research and assist with selection of training providers and monitor associated costs Coordinate in-house training activities and monitor and record progress Develop training plans, manuals, guides and course materials or review materials as requested Maintenance of Learning Management System (LMS) JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field or four to six years of comparable training and experience required Four to six years of office administrative experience preferably in the field of human resources Excellent writing skills mandatory High level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with staff, clients and community organizations in both oral and written forms Communication and organizational skills that contribute to a quality, team oriented work environment Work history that includes demonstrated success in problem solving, teamwork and professionalism Ability to multi-task and work effectively within an active public agency environment Ability to apply analytical skills in identifying operational problems and offer potential solutions Ability to frequently handle pressures related to meeting deadlines and working on projects requiring concentration and attention to detail Knowledge and experience of proper telephone etiquette Physical ability to sit in one position for extended periods of time WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little discomfort due to noise, dirt, dust and the like Local travel may occasionally be required This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by a person assigned to this job.
