Child Start is seeking an innovative leader to oversee the Head Start program, ensuring compliance with Federal Performance Standards and managing a budget exceeding $12 million. The role involves supervising program activities, contracting services, fostering collaboration with community organizations, and leading all program staff, including managers and site supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Head Start personnel to serve families, children, and community needs.
  • Participate as a member of the Executive Team to promote organizational goals and leadership.
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and report on program services to stakeholders.
  • Implement plans and policies aligned with strategic objectives and approved by the Board and Policy Council.
  • Develop short- and long-term goals and manage budgets in collaboration with the Finance & Accountability Director.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, laws, and standards related to the Head Start program.
  • Manage grant writing, reporting, and overall program compliance.

    • Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Public Administration, Social Work, or related field; Master's preferred.
    • Deep understanding of Head Start/Early Head Start models, regulations, and high-quality early childhood environments.
    • Experience managing budgets of $10 million or more is preferred.
    • High integrity, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and computer proficiency.
    • Ability to make timely decisions, develop procedures, and ensure compliance.
