Job Title: Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP)

Location: Central San Diego

Hours: Full time, hybrid schedule available (3 days in office 2 remote)

Job Type: Temporary to hire, looking for a team member to grow with our organization!

Pay: $36 - $40/ hr

Position Summary:

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic advisor and hands-on contributor responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units, primarily across retail operations. The HRBP serves as a consultant to leadership on human resource-related matters and acts as an employee champion and change agent to foster a culture of high performance, compliance, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with regional and store leadership teams to implement HR strategies that support business goals across multiple retail locations.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Collaborate with corporate HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, etc.) to deliver consistent HR services nationally.
  • Advise managers on organizational design, workforce optimization, and change management.
  • Support retail leaders with employee engagement strategies and retention initiatives specific to frontline and hourly employees.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, labor laws, and company procedures to ensure legal compliance across states/regions.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to develop solutions, programs, and policies that drive operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Conduct and support investigations related to employee complaints, misconduct, or policy violations in collaboration with Employee Relations or Legal teams.
  • Lead or support national HR initiatives and projects, such as diversity and inclusion, culture transformation, and HR system implementations.
  • Coach and develop managers to enhance leadership capability and drive a performance-oriented culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master's degree or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-site or retail environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships with leaders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
