OATS Transit is a non-profit transportation provider serving thousands of seniors, individuals with disabilities and the rural general public in Missouri. OATS Transit is hiring for a HR Specialist which is a highly responsible position that involves assisting the Human Resources Director in coordinating the Human Resource needs of over 600 employees, which include a variety of management, clerical and driving staff. Position calls for initiative, judgment and responsible work attitudes, and a high degree of confidentiality. Responsibilities include: Personnel: Set up self-onboarding for all new employees into HR system, Register or run all new employees into Family Care Safety Registry, E Verify all new hires and proof I9s for proper completion. File and keep I-9 record book; compile new hire folders and paperwork; Keep personnel files current. Recruiting duties: Post job openings in our HR recruiting system along with posting on Mojobs.gov state website and any other job sites. Monitor requisitions for those that are beyond 90 days old and address accordingly. Assist regional offices when needed in recruiting tasks. Benefit duties: Understand the workings of OATS Benefit program; gain knowledge in all benefits programs and be able discuss/explain benefits to all employees; assist in open enrollment both monthly for employees finishing probationary period and annual open enrollment and email out any benefit information requested. Update employee addresses in carrier databases and order replacement insurance cards when requested. Need experience in managing FMLA and ADA. HRMS system duties: Keep all employee info up to date by entering DOT physical dates, training dates, etc. Need to have the ability to deep dive into Paycom to become an expert user. Be able to assist employees with navigating the HR system for check stubs, tax changes, etc. QualificationsQualifications:
  • BS in Human Resources, Business Management, Project Management
  • 2-4 years of HR experience
  • SHRM or HRCI certified. If not, then the ability to become certified
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of confidentiality and knowledge of HR policies, practices and processes
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft programs
  • Experience in HRMS systems, Paycom preferred
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills needed
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels in the organization from Executive Director to Regional Directors to Drivers
  • Remain current on any changes in both state and federal level on HR laws, compliance and legislation
  • Self-starter with flexibility and positive attitude
