Summary/Objective The HR Generalist will own the site Payroll and Human Resources process. As the face of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will build strong, partnering relationships with leadership and while balancing employee advocacy and engagement. Responsibilities
- Compile and process weekly payroll data and review for accuracy, collaborating with local leadership and corporate payroll as required.
- Compile payroll data such as garnishments, time off, and deductions and review information for accuracy.
- Maintain/update employee data in HRIS.
- Coordinate recruiting process; attend job fairs.
- Coordinate onboarding activities such as post offer employment drug screenings and background checks, adhering to company policies and best practices.
- Actively participate and be the first line contact for all site HR, benefit, and wellness activities including but not limited to, new hire eligibility, open enrollment, life events, and general questions.
- Maintain compliance with established procedures for the employment lifecycle including recruiting, onboarding, training, LOAs, terminations, retirements.
- Create/distribute reports from HRIS for leadership.
- Coordinate Workers Compensation claims and reporting in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with local leadership to ensure HR is taking a proactive approach and fostering strong, trustworthy relationships with leadership and employees.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and legal responsibilities.
- Participate in Corporate HR projects.
- Maintains compliance on the federal, state and local levels in areas including, but not limited to, FLSA, ADAA and EEO.
- Be a visible and trustworthy advocate for employees by making weekly rounds in all the shops.
- Collaborate with corporate HR and payroll in order to identify and improve processes and procedures.

Days and hours of work is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require overtime. Required Education and Experience A bachelor's degree required. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credential. Union experience is preferred Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
