Our client, a fantastic arts organization in Lower Manhattan, is seeking a talented
HR Director to cover a parental leave from mid-January for approximately 8 months. The ideal candidate will be flexible, have strong interpersonal skills, and be passionate about working within a mission-driven environment. The schedule is full-time and requires
4 days onsite per week.Job Responsibilities:
Employee relations and performance coaching: Conducting one-on-one coaching and advising managers.DEI initiatives: Rolling out and maintaining various diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.Compliance: Monitoring and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, collaborating with legal teams to implement necessary policies.Talent acquisition: Structuring and filling open positions strategically in collaboration with teams.Leadership collaboration: Working closely with the Executive Director and leadership team on all people-related matters.Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience.Ability to operate both strategically and in detail.Experience in non-profit sectors; union experience is a plus.Experience within a mission-driven culture.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills in ambiguous, complex, or high-pressure situations.Please note: this is an employee position with Gainor (not a consultancy).
Compensation:
Pay Rate: $60-70/hour based on experience.
