We are seeking an HR Assistant to join our team! Reporting directly to the VP of Business Operations and working closely with the HR Manager, this role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for organizational development. New graduates are welcome to apply!
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end hiring process for staff positions, including drafting job descriptions, posting openings, conducting initial screenings, coordinating interviews, and tracking candidate progress.
- Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new staff and faculty, from offer acceptance through first-day orientation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries via phone, email, mail, or in person.
- Assist in evaluating staff benefit packages and lead initiatives for professional development, including team-building events and employee engagement activities.
- Collaborate with supervisors to support goal setting and performance tracking for employees.
- Coordinate the annual performance review process for administrative faculty and classified staff, providing procedural guidance and departmental support.
- Manage employee terminations and provide clear, supportive guidance throughout the offboarding process.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee records and sensitive information.
- Support managers in using the HCM system to ensure accurate and timely timekeeping for all employees.
- Identify and recommend improvements to HR, business, and finance processes, controls, and policies.
- Assist with audit preparation and compliance activities.
- Contribute to financial reporting through data analysis, budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Highly organized, process-oriented, and results-driven.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in providing project support across departments or functions.
- Working knowledge of financial principles, auditing standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools; experience with SQL is a plus.
- Masters degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and provide well-reasoned, defensible solutions.
Salary and Benefits:
- Base Salary: Starting at $52,000 per year
