JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition:HR, Assistant Schedule:Monday through Friday(8:00 am to 4:30 pm) Reports To:Human Resources, Director Employment Status: Temporary-Full time FLSA Classification: Hourly- Non-exempt Compensation Range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour Job Summary: This is an entry-level position in Human Resources. The ideal candidate will get exposure to the different areas of HR by working very closely with the HR Director. If you are a self-motivated person who wants to get into Human Resources, this is your opportunity. Job Responsibilities:
- Source, screen, recruit, and onboard union, temporary, and seasonal employees.
- Process employee transactions in various HR systems, ensuring data accuracy.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties, including but not limited to running time & attendance, headcount, and benefits reports.
- Process weekly payroll for hourly employees (union, non- union, seasonal and temporary employees).
- Act as a bilingual liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions.
- Handle first tier of employee and labor relations.
- Assist with employee leave of absence ensuring compliance with FMLA, NYPFL, NY State Sick time, STD, and ADA.
- Assist with the Worker's Compensation process, this includes filling out incident/ accident reports, submit to carriers, and timely follow up with employees.
- Assist the Food Safety Administrator with documentation Control, nutritional Program, thermometer Calibration.
- Any other needs as needed depending on business needs.
Education and Experience:
- College Degree and/or a combination of education (in Human Resources) and work experience.
- 1 - 3 years of internship/ HR experience, or administrative and/or office experience.
Job Requirements:
- Must be Bilingual (Spanish).
- Knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word - (Must know Excel -V look up and Pivot tables)
- Able to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- The work is performed in an office environment. 85% of the time is sitting.
- 15% of the time is spent walking, understanding employees' needs on the production floor, and handing paychecks.
