Job DescriptionThe Family Independence Administration (FIA) provides temporary assistance to individuals and families with social service and economic needs, aiming to promote self-sufficiency through various programs/services such as cash assistance, SNAP, eviction prevention, and more.
Under the supervision of the Associate Benefits Opportunity Specialist II, the incumbent will supervise a team of BOS staff handling eligibility, housing, and related services, ensuring quick client service via telephone and walk-ins, managing case actions, and maintaining inter-team communication. The role involves program development, investigation, and supporting the FIA Housing Court initiative.
BenefitsThe selected candidate will oversee the entire application process for Family Assistance cases, including interviewing tenants at risk of homelessness, developing intervention plans, assigning applications, and preparing reports. The role also involves conducting team meetings, providing staff training, and coordinating with community agencies.
Hours/Schedule9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Minimum QualificationsAdditional considerations include college credits substitution and eligibility for the 55-a Program for qualified persons with disabilities.
