We offer EXCELLENT benefits including Aetna Health benefits on the 1st of the month after hire, along with other key benefits!!HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR JOB SUMMARY The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and workflow of the housekeeping, laundry, and floor technician teams within the facility. This role ensures that all environmental services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in accordance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and infection control protocols. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors, while also assisting with scheduling, training, and quality control across all shifts. The position requires hands-on support, strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, resident-centered healthcare setting.

  • Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the Housekeepers, Laundry Aides, and Floor Technicians.
  • Perform regular facility wide rounds establishing rapport with all staff members, checking on supplies and ensuring the workflows of each position are being completed properly and as scheduled.
  • Auditing for quality and quantity of work performed, and reporting any pertinent findings to Department Head.
  • May act as a back up to Dept. Head when they are unavailable or out of office.
  • Ensure proper infection control procedures are followed during the handling and transport of all soiled items or bins.
  • Ensure floor technicians / porters are completing assignments as scheduled. Lending support as deemed necessary by staffing or special projects.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing coordination regularly.
  • Serves as a role model for the members of the department.
  • Assists with the interview process as designated.
  • Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality while consistently demonstrating a positive attitude and team spirit for the departmental managers and for the facility.
  • Provide daily housekeeping services to resident rooms, shower rooms, restrooms, offices, and all common areas as needed.
  • Perform all laundry tasks as needed for support and operating all laundry equipment per proper procedures.
  • Dusts and damp mops floors, dusts furniture and equipment, assists with room changes, arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
  • Draw supplies as needed from the environmental services office.
  • Ensure the laundry is staffed appropriately checking in regularly to monitor progress and adherence to processing schedule.
  • Perform regular checks of all porter and linen closets ensuring they are appropriately stocked and organized.
  • Communicate any inventory or supply needs to the department director.
  • Perform audits of all housekeeping carts regularly to ensure proper stocking of chemicals and supplies.
  • Participate in daily close of shift communication meetings with supervisors and staff.
  • Perform any other duties relative to the department as necessary or as delegated.
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Associate's degree or post high school coursework or certification in Hospitality, Environmental Services, or Healthcare Management a plus!
  • Minimum of 1+ years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility setting.
  • Linen services experience preferred, but not required.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and communicate with staff effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English
  • Competency with scheduling, supply inventory, and documentation systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Strong/working knowledge of infection control, sanitation standards, and OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with NYS Department of Health (DOH) regulations related to environmental services in long-term care facilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pleasant personality and ability to work with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
