Housekeeping Supervisor
The HYATT PLACE MILFORD/NEW HAVEN is presently accepting applications for Housekeeping Supervisor/Head Housekeeper. The position is available for hire immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
- Coordinates work activities among departments.
- Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements.
- Prepares weekly housekeeping schedule.
- Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
- Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.
- Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
- Advises manager, Front Office of rooms ready for occupancy.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
Requirements:
- 1 year or more of housekeeping experience.
- Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Being bilingual and speaking Spanish & English is a plus.
- Must have knowledge of using a computer.
- Must be flexible & able to work weekends, weekdays, or holidays as needed by management.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America.
Candidates without any hotel housekeeping experience will not be considered.
