Clean and prepare guest rooms meeting the established cleaning and decor standards to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize revenue. This position requires flexible availability and is part of Unite HERE, Local26, hospitality union.
ResponsibilitiesCollect items from shelves and stores, prepare the cleaning cart with supplies and keep them constantly clean and tidy to improve efficiency and facilitate room cleaning.
Clean and dry windows, doors, walls, closets, and accessories in rooms, public areas, and corridors, often using ladders or stools to clean hard-to-reach areas, to keep the facilities clean, presentable, and attractive at all times. Wash shower and bathtub walls, clean the toilet(s) and walls of the cabins if applicable, clean exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks, and walls to keep public and guest bathrooms clean and hygienic.
Restock towels, soaps, and all toiletries in the room and restock literature that the previous guest has removed or that is dirty and worn out to ensure adequate supply for arriving guests.
Wash all hard floor surfaces (linoleum, tiles, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and dirty areas. Dust and polish all the furniture, accessories, and upholstery, including using a duster to reach the ventilation grilles and the corners of the ceiling to remove dust and cobwebs.
Remove all bedding and remake it with clean bedding, checking the cleanliness of the quilt, blankets, and bedspreads, and replacing them if they are dirty.
Lift mattresses to check for dirt between them and under the bed.
Vacuum rooms, public areas, and corridors, operating vacuum cleaners weighing up to 11 kg and lifting/moving heavy furniture to vacuum all carpet, including under furniture and hard-to-reach areas.
Inspect all door and window locks to ensure they are working properly and immediately alert management about any unsafe or insecure situations for the safety of guests and employees.
Inspect all room equipment (televisions, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure they are working properly and inform the executive cleaning staff immediately, in writing, about the room's status and maintenance deficiencies for prompt repair/resolution.
Secure and guard equipment, keys, and supplies at all times to protect and preserve the hotel's property.
Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous attitude at all times.
Perform other tasks assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
Check the cleanliness of the closet, cleaning the door, handle, and top shelves, and restocking room items, such as hangers, blankets, and additional pillows.
