Residence Inn Waynesboro is hiring Housekeeping staff!GENERAL: The housekeeper role is the key individual in achieving the goals and quality standards of the housekeeping department. The housekeeper must impact all elements of the department from standards of cleanliness to guest interaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be flexible and work when needed and as scheduled
Must be reliable and willing to work weekends and holidays
Must be able to bend, stoop and lift
Pick up rooms reports and keys to assigned areas daily. All keys must be signed out and signed back in at the end of your shift
Always be cautious not to make excessive noise in the hallways
Attend and participate in morning meetings
Clean rooms according to established procedures
o Check-outs will be done first except in special circumstances
o Be mindful of Do Not Disturb Signs
Always knock and announce yourself before entering a room
Place work orders (maintenance tickets) as necessary
Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property. Report any damage, theft and found articles to Supervisors
o Turn in lost and found daily
Responsible for keeping the housekeeping carts and closets cleaned and stocked daily
Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc. Must comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc.
o Never mix chemicals
o Always ensure to use the proper labeled bottle when replenishing
Bring any unsafe or unsanitary conditions to the attention of a Supervisor immediately
Never let someone unauthorized into a room. You can always refer them to the front desk
Always check with a supervisor for additional duties to be completed after you have finished your rooms
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to work on time with proper uniform, including name tag. Personal appearance must comply with the standard of the hotel
Be informed about daily operations
Check with your immediate supervisor for additional information
Develop a thorough knowledge of the products, including hotel rooms, type of rooms, amenities, services of hotel, etc.
Develop knowledge about frequent guests and their special requests and needs
Be familiar with cultural differences in order to meet all different customer needs
Be able to work according to budget; keep constant eye on staffing level and control costs
Be knowledgeable about etiquette and protocols
Be familiar with all emergency plans and be able to act upon them
Have a good knowledge about the city and local attractions
Report any unusual occurrences immediately to a Supervisor
At all times strive to represent Marriott in the most professional, courteous manner
Other duties as assigned
