Job Title: House Manager – Group Home for Boys (Ages 8–21) Location: Dayton, OH Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $21.50 - $25 Reports To: Program Director / Residential Director

About Us:

Boys To Men Transitional Home is a mission-driven residential care provider dedicated to supporting boys ages 8 to 21 who have experienced trauma, neglect, or other challenges requiring out-of-home placement. Our goal is to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where youth can heal, grow, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

We are currently seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced House Manager to oversee daily operations of one of our group homes and ensure the highest standard of care and supervision for our residents.

Position Summary:

The House Manager is responsible for the overall management of the group home, ensuring a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for residents. This role involves supervision of direct care staff, oversight of facility operations, compliance with licensing standards, and direct engagement with youth to promote positive development. The ideal candidate has experience working with at-risk youth, strong leadership skills, and the ability to maintain a structured yet nurturing home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Management

Supervise, schedule, and support direct care staff (Youth Care Workers).

Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure team alignment with program goals.

Provide on-the-job coaching, performance evaluations, and staff development.

Youth Care & Programming

Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all residents at all times.

Foster a therapeutic environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and resilience.

Monitor residents' progress, behavior, and individual needs.

Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans.

Operations & Compliance

Ensure the home is clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.

Maintain compliance with state licensing and accreditation standards.

Ensure accurate documentation including daily logs, incident reports, and medication administration.

Coordinate with case managers, clinicians, and other support staff.

Family & Community Engagement

Act as a liaison with families, schools, and community resources as needed.

Support youth in engaging in school, work, and recreational activities.

Transport residents to appointments, school, and extracurriculars as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience working in residential care or with at-risk youth.

Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in a related setting.

Valid driver's license / Reliable transportation.

Ability to pass background checks, including child abuse clearances and fingerprinting.

Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.

Preferred:

Training or certification in trauma-informed care, behavioral intervention, or crisis de-escalation.

Familiarity with state and local licensing regulations for residential care facilities.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Work Environment & Schedule:

The position requires a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

This is a live-out position (not live-in), but availability for crisis support and emergencies is required.
