DescriptionJob Title: House Manager Department: Community LivingReports to: Program Manager Job Summary: This position is an integral part of the management team and supervisor within the agency responsible for many activities surrounding the care of individuals with developmental disabilities. They are liaison with many facets of an individual's personal care and planning including nursing, doctors, Direct Support personnel, ect., and are integral in training personnel providing direct care. In addition, this position is responsible for the general day-to-day operation of a home providing 24 hour support for 1-6 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Support and Services -
    • Knows, respects, and supports each individual's personal plan. This includes preparing documentation and engaging in the personal planning process to ensure each individual's needs and rights are intact and have an optimal quality of life.
    • Ensures documentation for each individual in the home is completed and updated, including medical, financial, daily documentations, etc.
    • Ensures nutritious meals are prepared daily, according to dietary needs of the individuals in the home.
    • Oversees the proper ordering and administration of medication.
    • Assists individuals with portraying a positive image
    • Coordinates medical appointments.
    • Provides an environment of safety and security for all individuals.
    • Coordinates activities, including transportation, equipment, and funding.
    • Be available to respond to staff in case of an emergency.
  • Personnel -
    • Provide training and oversight to staff as needed in the day-to-day operations of the home, as well as any other training necessary to enhance the quality of life for the individual being supported.
    • Establishes a schedule for the home.
    • Checks time clocks for accuracy and fixes any mistakes.
    • Assists staff in finding coverage for call-ins.
    • Ensures performance evaluation and disciplinary action are completed.
    • Maintains appropriate documentation reflecting employee performance (positives and negatives)
  • Health and Safety -
    • Ensure home reflects a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
    • Ensure the vehicle is in good repair and operates in a safe manner, following the Vehicle Guidelines.
    • Report any maintenance, health, and/or safety needs.
    • Ensure fire and storm drills are conducted and documented appropriately.
    • Work in conjunction with the community RN to ensure all health needs are being met.
  • Quality Assurance
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Training - Agency Orientation, First Aid, CPR, Abuse & Neglect, HIPAA, Positive Behavior Support, Level 1 Medication Aide, and a valid Class E operator's License.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma and at least 3 years of relatable experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, lift, sit and walk for a period of time.
