ATR Details Position Details Search Number PJ # 6929 Title Hourly Programmer/Analyst Category Professional Department Information Technology Services About The Position: Information and Technology Services (ITS) provides for campus technology needs inside and outside of the classroom, handles administrative computing, and manages network infrastructure. ITS supports SUNY Plattsburgh's technology needs by providing the services, tools, and facilities that keep the campus community working efficiently, and by creating an environment that is stable, secure, and user-friendly. This vita bank exists to seeks candidates for various temporary positions to support information technology services and projects as needed. As an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs and practices. Required Qualifications:
  • At the time of appointment, the candidate must possess a four-year degree in Computer Science or related field, OR at least a two-year degree and two years of relevant experience, OR four years of equivalent experience
  • The willingness and ability to function as part of a dynamic team
  • Perform evening and weekend work, as well as travel, as necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner
  • Experience with Evisions Argos or other SQL based report development tool
  • Proficient in use of SQL, PL/SQL, and/or SQR
  • Experience with maintaining integrated enterprise database and database applications.
  • Experience working with Linux, Windows, Java, and Javascript
  • The willingness and ability to successfully help members of the college community with their computing needs
  • Ability to successfully translate user's needs into useful computer programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Experience managing or supporting enterprise-scale network infrastructure or services
  • Valid driver's license at the time of appointment
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff and administrators
