POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at one of Oxford's luxury or boutique-style hotels is responsible for assisting in meeting financial targets, cost and waste controls, training and development of the FOH staff and overall success in delivering luxury level service standards. This position assists the Food and Beverage Manager in the operation of all beverage production and dining service, being available to stand in if the Food and Beverage Manager is not accessible. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager plays a key role in striving to meet and exceed Four-Star service standards delivering high-quality service and amenities with strong attention to detail, ensuring excellence in every guest interaction, and consistently exceeding expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times. Food and Beverage Management (50%):
- Lead day-to-day operations of all beverage outlets including restaurant, bar, in-room dining, and banquet service
- Coordinate VIP and special event dining experiences, ensuring personalized, high-end service
- Being available to work the floor during peak service, tending to guest and ensuring the highest level of service and satisfaction
- Assist in supervision, training, and guidance of the food and beverage staff in accordance with company policy, safety, and sanitation requirements
- Maintain knowledge of menu and restaurant specials, Offering expert-level recommendations to enhance guest experience and anticipate guest needs, delivering personalized, luxury-level service
- Assist in the maintenance of employee records concerning attendance, punctuality, and performance
- Make recommendations and assist in adjusting staffing levels based on operational needs
- Ensure all staff maintain required certifications, such as food handlers' licenses and liquor permits
- Create an agenda with hotel leadership and conduct regular staff meetings to share information, provide feedback, and address any concerns
- Lead pre-shift meetings, ensuring the team is informed of daily priorities
- Provide guidance and motivation to food and beverage staff and feedback for development
Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager. Operations and Administration (30%):
- Assist in establishing, conducting and maintaining standards of quality control for regularly schedule lounge and restaurant cleaning programs
- Creation and scheduling of equipment and furnishings cleaning
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and that all food-contact areas are sanitized multiple times daily
- Ensure that proper equipment and supplies are available to ensure food is cooked and stored to safe health standards
- Assist in ordering food, beverages, supplies and control inventory
- Attend hotel management meetings when the Food and Beverage manager is not available
- Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager and sales department to provide catering for meeting room clients
Guest Relations (10%):
- Engage with guests in a friendly, customer-focused manner, providing exceptional service to ensure every aspect of their experience exceeds expectations.
- Handle guest complaints, requests, and concerns with professionalism and discretion, using the Oxford Collection guest recovery, and service gestures consistent with Forbes service standards
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with guests and staff
Other (10%):
- Collaborate with other hotel departments, including front desk and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations
- Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
- Assist with other tasks as required to support the needs of the hotel and food and beverage operations
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
- Other Hotel related duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
- Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Food handler's license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
- Reliable and consistent attendance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
- While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
- Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
