This is a permanent, full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of health information. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical records, assigning and sequencing codes, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This role requires extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, as well as proficiency in CPT/DRG assignment. Responsibilities:As a HIM Coding Quality Analyst, you will:1. Perform detailed reviews and audits of medical records to ensure accurate code assignment and sequencing.2. Analyze and interpret complex medical documentation to assign and sequence appropriate CPT/DRG codes.3. Provide feedback to coding staff and other healthcare providers regarding coding quality and compliance.4. Develop, implement, and maintain coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.5. Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for coding staff to enhance their understanding of coding guidelines and regulations.6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to resolve coding issues and disputes.7. Monitor changes in coding guidelines and regulations and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.8. Prepare and present reports on coding quality and compliance to management.Qualifications:To be considered for this role, you must have:1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.2. Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent.3. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.4. Proficiency in CPT/DRG assignment and ICD-10-CM and PCS coding systems.5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.8. Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.9.
