With a strong emphasis on technical excellence and quality claims outcomes, we are seeking an experienced Home Office Claims Examiner to support high-severity commercial general liability claims across a national book.
This is a pivotal role that blends complex claims oversight with leadership in claims strategy, quality assurance, litigation management, and reinsurance reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide expert guidance and oversight on high-value general liability claims, including serious injury and complex damage exposures
Advise on policy limit demands, pre-trial strategies, and nuanced coverage issues
Review and approve reserves and claim payments exceeding field office authority
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in large loss reporting and file handling
Handle select complex claims directly, maintaining strategic control and resolution integrity
Collaborate with regional teams to drive best practices and consistent claims outcomes
Serve as a key participant in Loss Review Committees and Home Office quality audits
Ensure timely and accurate reinsurance notifications and documentation
10+ years of experience in commercial P&C claims, with a strong focus on general liability
Proven ability to manage and resolve high-severity or high-exposure claims
Excellent skills in coverage analysis, litigation management, and claims strategy
Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence claims quality and consistency
Knowledge of reinsurance protocols and reporting practices
Designations such as CPCU, AIC, or SCLA preferred
Base Salary: $80,000 to $88,000
