Job Title: Home Health Aide Trainee - Entry Level Department: Home Care Location: Newark, In the community Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: Monday - Friday; Days/Evenings/Nights
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engagement in Learning - Participate actively in all training classes, including reading, discussions, and written assignments.
Hands-On Skill Development - Successfully demonstrate all necessary skills as outlined in the home health aide competency test.
Knowledge Assessment - Achieve a score of 80% or higher on quizzes and exams throughout the course.
Attendance Commitment - Attend all required training sessions and clinical orientations punctually.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Driver's License - Valid New York State Driver's License required (not necessary for ElderONE applicants).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Direct Patient Care - One to two years of experience providing direct patient care is preferred.
Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions effectively.
Physical Ability - Meet the physical demands of the job, including continuous standing, walking, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
Technical Proficiency - Preferred strong computer skills.
EDUCATION:
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: NYS DL - Valid New York State Driver's License required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work - Involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly for movement; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
