- Completion of Home Health Aide Training Program
Preferred Experience
- 1 year of experience as a CNA/HHA
Required Certification/Registration
- Current CA Home Health Aide Certification
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid CA Driver's license
- Current automobile insurance.

- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Bathes clients who are confined to bed or ambulatory per assignment sheet/care plan developed by registered nurse.
- Assists in the care of mouth, teeth, hair, nails and skin, giving special attention to pressure points.
- Assists clients with use of bathroom and/or bedpan/urinal/bedside commode.
- Helps retrain clients in self-help skills and ambulation per plan of care when appropriate.
- Prepares light meals and provides light cleaning of the client's environment.
7 Interacts in an emotionally supportive way with patient, families and other caregivers.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to the cultural and age related needs of all patients, particularly the geriatric and dying patients.
- Reports changes in patient condition to nurse.
