Histotechnologist - White Plains Hospital : Job Details

Performs Histological technical procedures using manual and automated techniques to achieve high quality Pathology slides for review by Pathologists. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Performs embedding and sectioning of tissue blocks following section protocol as to biopsies, routine, etc. Evaluates routine stain daily (H E), reviews for inconsistencies and confirms and/or corrects before releasing slides. Performs Special Stains and evaluates for inconsistencies and confirms and/or correct before releasing slides, Checks positive controls and documents on run log(s). Performs Immunohistochemistries, and evaluates for inconsistencies and confirms and/or correct before releasing slides, Checks positive and negative controls and documents on run log(s).
