Shift: Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-9:00pm
About the RoleAs a Histotechnologist/Histotechnician at NY Pathology Lab, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and analysis of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. Your expertise will ensure that high-quality histological slides are produced, which are essential for accurate disease diagnosis and treatment planning. You will be responsible for overseeing the histology laboratory processes, including embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens. Additionally, you will mentor and train junior staff, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning and improvement. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact patient care and the overall effectiveness of the healthcare services provided by our lab.
Minimum QualificationsThe required skills for this position include a strong understanding of histological techniques and laboratory protocols, which are essential for producing high-quality tissue samples. Attention to detail is critical, as even minor errors in specimen preparation can lead to misdiagnosis. Leadership skills will be utilized daily as you mentor junior staff and foster a team-oriented environment. Proficiency in laboratory equipment maintenance ensures that all tools are functioning optimally, contributing to the lab's efficiency. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with digital pathology, will enhance your ability to analyze and present findings effectively, further supporting the diagnostic process.
