SagisDiagnostics is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. Sagis is looking for a Histotech who will:
- Perform histological procedures on tissues.
- Perform histological preparations.
- Maintain logs and prepare regular and special reports on procedures for specific tissues.
- Ensure that laboratory equipment and supplies are clean and sterile and maintain the cleanliness of the laboratory
- Follow the guidelines of HIPAA, designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of PHI.
- Promote a culture of safety for patients and associates through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.
- Perform troubleshooting measures that concern the Histology Lab.
- Maintain daily equipment Quality Control Forms.
- Help maintain supplies with open/receive dates.
- Demonstrate skills in technical data interpretation and ability to troubleshoot.
- Demonstrate ability to take and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Schedule: Hours - Monday through Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
- 1-3 years of Grossing or Histotech experience PREFERRED
- High School / G.E.D and a minimum Associate's degree* REQUIRED*
- Certification/registration as a Histology Technician or Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology PREFERRED
