Highway & Roads Market Sector DirectorPrimary ResponsibilitiesMarket Sector Directors (MSD) are part of HDR's matrix management structure that drive our business. The HDR Highway & Roads (H&R) market sector is the largest in the company, representing nearly $1B in annual revenue globally. It includes clients that own and operate highways, toll roads, city, town, and local roads, and bridge structures. HDR provides professional services such as bridge and highway design, traffic engineering, transportation planning, and tolling services.
This role requires an understanding of H&R clients, their funding, revenue streams, and governmental structures. The primary responsibilities are divided into three areas:
The Director sets the vision for HDR's strategy to expand and serve clients in this sector, supporting growth initiatives, staff development, and strategic planning in coordination with leadership across regions and practice groups. The role involves engaging with clients, supporting business development, and representing HDR in industry associations globally.
Responsibilities include overseeing market share growth, client management, staff recruitment and development, project delivery, quality assurance, and fostering industry partnerships. The role also involves monitoring performance indicators, supporting technical excellence, and ensuring effective resource utilization.
