HIGHWAY MAINTAINER - WINTER SALARIED - DISTRICT 5 - State of Illinois : Job Details

The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking to hire temporary Winter Salaried Highway Maintainers for the 2025/2026 Snow and Ice Season. The Winter Salaried Highway Maintainer (monthly snowbird) performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair and upkeep of roads, bridges and other related structures and features. Essential Functions - Operates CDL Class A or B licensed vehicles. - During snow and ice conditions, assists in snow and ice control. - Performs labor relating to the maintenance of roadside and right-of-way. - Performs labor relating to the maintenance of roads. - Performs routine housekeeping duties and other tasks associated with the general care of the headquarters grounds. - Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
