Your Job Are you interested in within an IT department? Do you have good interpersonal skills and like helping with co-workers, clients, and superiors? If this sounds like the challenge you're looking for, then a job as a Help Desk Specialist could be the right fit for you. Your Day Help Desk Specialist responsibilities may include the following: :
  • Walking customers through troubleshooting their computer and software issues over the phone or via email.
  • Running diagnostic programs on computers that aren't functioning properly.
  • Resolving problems on company network systems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Writing training manuals and guides
  • Ordering computers, computer accessories, and other equipment.
  • Following up with customers to make sure they aren't experiencing any other technical issues.
You will need to have the following: :
  • Proven experience as a Help Desk Specialist
  • Working knowledge of computer equipment and software
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Computer Science degree; additional IT qualifications are a plus
