Heavy Equipment Operator - Dyer Contracting : Job Details

Skills Required:

• Machine Operation (3-5 years of experience)
• Proficient in operating heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and loaders.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Underground Utility Installation
• Skilled in installing stormwater and sewer pipes, including proper alignment, grading, and joining techniques (e.g., PVC, HDPE, concrete pipes).
• Familiarity with trenching, shoring, and OSHA safety standards for underground work.
• Laser & Grade Control
• Experience using laser levels and grade rods for accurate elevation and slope control.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and site plans for proper grading and drainage.
• Site Work & Earthmoving
• Strong background in dirt work, including cut/fill operations, grading, and final compaction.
• Experience with land clearing, subgrade preparation, and finish grading.
• Additional Valuable Skills (Preferred but Not Required)
• OSHA 10/30 Certification
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
• Experience with pipe laser systems or automated machine guidance (AMG).
