As specialists in utility-scale solar projects, we are committed to delivering innovative and impactful solar installations that contribute to a brighter and greener future.Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator Foreman for direct hire in Upstate New York. This role will oversee crews on solar and civil projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. Candidates without solar experience must have strong foreman-level experience in landscaping or similar industries.Responsibilities:Supervise and lead crew members on site prep and solar construction projects.Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, hay blower and other machinery, in the execution of utility-scale solar projects.Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation activities, including grading, excavation, and leveling, to ensure optimal conditions for solar module installation; IE: Build or expanding roads, hauling materials, trenching or drainage prep and landscaping.Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functionality, identifying and addressing issues promptly.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and your team.Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and fellow operators to achieve project goals within specified timelines.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, in utility-scale solar projects.Proven Foreman experience leading crews on construction or landscaping projects.Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to safety practices and awareness of potential hazards associated with heavy equipment operation.Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.Ability to pass a background check and drug screenDirect Hire and Traveling position (Local to NY state area required)Benefits:Health, Vision and Dental InsurancePaid Holidays and PTO401(k) Retirement PlanGPT Renewables is an equal employment opportunity employer.
