Heavy Equipment Operator to join their growing team.This is a hands-on role essential to the safe and effective execution of commercial demolition and excavation projects
Position Overview:Reporting to the Demolition/Excavation Division Manager, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery, maintaining safe and clean job sites, and supporting demolition and excavation operations across multiple job sites. This role involves a mix of fieldwork, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and heavy trucks.
- Safely demolish structures and perform excavation work on commercial job sites.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and general maintenance (oil, grease, fuel, etc.).
- Mobilize trucks with necessary materials and tools for the day's operations.
- Maintain awareness of job site surroundings to ensure safety for all personnel.
- Keep work zones and equipment clean and professionally maintained.
- Read and interpret plans or work orders as needed.
- Complete daily time entries and safety checklists.
- Uphold and enforce all OSHA and company safety standards.
- Attend required safety meetings and training sessions.
- Assist in motivating crew members and promoting high-quality production.
Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience in demolition, excavation, or related construction fields.
- Valid Driver's License and auto insurance that meets company standards.
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, Forklift, and Aerial certifications within the first year of employment.
Additional Requirements:- Ability to travel to various job sites as needed (up to 100% travel).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety procedures, job site etiquette, and construction best practices.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs and work in variable weather conditions.
- Comfortable using basic software tools including Microsoft Office and timekeeping apps.
