Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Primary duties include planning, developing, evaluating, and conducting current state analysis and leading the implementation of technical projects toward future state objectives.

  • Research, select, and implement solutions to various problems using logical and analytical engineering techniques.
  • Collaborate and communicate with various levels of the organization, including production employees, supervisors, peers, and subject matter experts.
  • Present internal reports and complex information to leadership.
  • Represent PCC in vendor and customer communications.
  • Lead small groups and serve as a resource for the manufacturing workforce.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure projects stay on track.
Job Functions
  • Improve plant safety
  • Set specifications for processing parts in their area of focus
  • Become a subject matter expert in their area
  • Learn JMP and Statistica
  • Track department metrics and develop/improve plans to enhance these metrics
  • Use statistical process control to monitor performance and react to out-of-control conditions
  • Reduce scrap and rework caused by their area
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to improve equipment functionality and implement new equipment
  • Interface with other departments for joint problem-solving
  • Conduct audits and develop containment plans
  • Run experiments to reduce process variability and costs
  • Maintain project plans and meet deadlines
  • Develop and maintain Process Maps, PFMEAs, and control plans
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience, particularly in heat treatment of metals
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards like AMS 2750, NADCAP
  • Strong understanding of heat treatment processes
  • Experience with heat treatment equipment
  • Solid foundation in metallurgy related to thermal processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work objectively and with integrity
  • Experience with data collection and analysis in Excel
Desired Skills
  • Leading technical audits
  • Experience with JMP, Minitab, Webfocus, Statistica
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, process mapping
  • Programming skills in Python, VBA, Ignition, PLC
  • Experience in dashboarding and SPC implementation
  • Experience with investment casting

Salary Range: $70,000 - $130,000
