JOB OVERVIEW
The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental compliance programs that support organizational goals and meet local, state, federal, and international environmental regulations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the company's operations adhere to environmental standards and sustainability objectives while promoting a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain environmental programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., EPA, OSHA, ISO 14001)
- Maintain and manage regulatory reporting requirements including Form R, Tier II, hazardous waste manifests, air/water permits, and stormwater reports
- Lead and manage the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) including audits, documentation, training, and corrective actions
- Administer and track product-related environmental compliance programs such as IMDS (International Material Data System) and Conflict Minerals reporting
- Serve as the primary liaison for environmental inspections and audits by government agencies and third-party assessors
- Conduct regular environmental audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement and driving corrective action plans
- Provide environmental training and awareness programs to employees at all levels to ensure understanding of environmental responsibilities
- Investigate environmental incidents or non-compliance issues, coordinate root cause analysis, and ensure timely implementation of countermeasures
- Support sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource conservation projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain) to integrate environmental considerations into operations and projects
- Maintain documentation and records to support environmental compliance and internal reporting requirements
- Procure, maintain, and manage inventory of safety and environmental-related equipment and supplies
- Contribute to business planning activities and lead or support assigned EHS projects or improvement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Associate degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred)
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in an environmental compliance, EHS, or regulatory role
- Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, environmental permitting, hazardous materials management, and sustainability practices

- Ability to analyze and interpret technical regulations and data
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used for compliance management (e.g., PLEX or similar ERP systems)
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
- Regular participation in EHS-related training and regulatory refresher courses
