Health Aide 2 / Driver - Georgia : Job Details

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• May be required to drive long distances for placement, appointments, visits for the individuals
• Escorts individuals to appointments, such as doctors' visits, leisure/recreational activities and discharges, as necessary
• Utilizes all appropriate security and safety precautions according to established guidelines
• Provides basic patient care and works with individuals in a mental health setting to develop daily living skills
• Completes required documentation in patient and unit records
• Takes vital signs as needed and documents accordingly in the Electronic Medical Record
• Ensures safety and security of individuals
• Observes and documents patient data, behavior, and activity
• Prepares individuals for treatments or examinations
• Transports and/or accompanies individuals to treatment units
• May assist with bathing or activities of daily living

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:

• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license from the state in which candidate resides
• 1+ years' direct care experience preferably some experience in mental health
• Must have a clear MVR record and meet the policy requirements for operating a state-owned vehicle: must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
